Realtime Technologies boasts a VDA 6.3 Certified Auditor

Joyce Power, a Quality Engineer with RTT, has recently qualified and been certified as a VDA 6.3 Process Auditor in accordance with the VDA QMC rules. This qualification enables an auditor to perform process audits according to VDA Manual 6 as per the requirements of the German Automotive Industry in;

  • Auditing processes related to the life cycle of the product being manufactured.
  • Describing and evaluating the results of the processes and audits and
  • Proposing and reporting on possible improvements that can be made to processes to better align with the requirements of the VDA QMC rules.

VDA 6.3 was developed by the German Automotive industry. VDA 6.3 defines an audit standard which is process based and used for evaluating and improving controls in manufacturing. It can deal with an organisation’s new product introduction (NPI) and/or manufacturing processes.

The standard was broadly restructured in 2010, in order to take into account the changes to ISO 9001:2008 and also customer specific requirements which are related to the automotive industry.

The standard can be used by any organisation, either for internal process audits, or for evaluating existing or potential suppliers. Compliance to VDA 6.3 is often mandated as a requirement by automotive manufacturers.

Going forward all internal audits performed in RTT will be conducted taking into account not only ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 but also VDA 6.3.
